Geum — gold — is the word the farmers in Geumsan use for the six-year root. By the sixth season, the ginseng has accumulated enough secondary metabolites that the price multiplies; in some markets, a single six-year root sells for more than the equivalent weight in silver. We use this root, in concentration, because there is no substitute we have found.
The serum is built around three active hanbang extracts: ginseng oligosaccharide from Geumsan, Ganghwa mugwort steam-distillate, and a fourteen-day cold-fermented houttuynia. To these we add a low concentration of bakuchiol — a stable plant alternative to retinol, sourced from a partner in India — and a meaningful dose of niacinamide for tone.
The texture is closer to a hydrating gel than a traditional serum. The amber color comes from the ginseng; the slight green note in the scent is the mugwort. There is no added fragrance. The serum will smell different from harvest year to harvest year; this is intentional, and is why we date each batch.
Reserved for evening use. In the morning, the skin is best left to its own quiet repair. We have tested this with practitioners and customers; the result is the same. The skin asks for less than people give it.

How to use사용법
Step three of four. Evening only.
- 1Complete Steps One and Two of the ritual first. Wait for the essence to absorb fully.
- 2Press the dropper bulb once; the serum should fill approximately a third of the dropper.
- 3Distribute across both palms; tap gently across the face, neck, and the soft beneath the eye.
- 4Continue to Step Four within two minutes.
A note on bakuchiol: it is sometimes confused with retinol. Bakuchiol does not photosensitize, and may be used without restriction. We still recommend morning sun protection.
